iOS app for Slate Aviation, built and integrated into a new backend

Slate Aviation needed a passenger iOS app that could talk to a new backend. Coresecure built the app and helped integrate it so travelers can book seats, choose catering, and manage trip details.

The Business Challenge

Slate Aviation was launching a private aviation product — by-the-seat flights on refurbished ultra-large cabin aircraft between South Florida and the Northeast — and needed a passenger iOS app to go with it. Travelers had to search a route, choose a seat, select catering, and manage trip details without calling operations.

The app had to ship on the App Store. It also had to work against a new backend that was being stood up at the same time. Those two problems were one engagement.

Our Approach

We built the native iOS app and helped integrate it into that new backend. Booking, seat selection, catering, trip management, and a path to 24/7 customer service live in the same product, talking to the systems that operate the flights.

The scope was the app and the integration. Not a platform rewrite. Not a marketing site.

  • Slate Aviation iOS app search screen with a one-way trip from New York to South Florida, guest counts, and a Search button.
  • Slate Aviation iOS app About the Service screen describing daily private by-the-seat flights and cabin features.
  • Slate Aviation iOS app seat map for a Long Island to Palm Beach flight, with two seats selected.

The Impact

The Slate Aviation app is on the App Store as a free Travel app. Passengers can search, book, choose a seat, select catering, and manage trip details from iOS.
